TIMA's New Leadership Structure - how you can help.

TIMA has modified the way that TIMA Leadership is organized - some new positions have been added, and others have been taken away. We are now looking for interested people to help fill the open positions below. If you are interested in helping out, contact brian@tima.org.

Operations Board vs. Advisory Board

In addition to the Operations Board above, we are also accepting nominations to the Advisory Board of TIMA. The Advisory Board is composed of leaders in the interactive community who get together once or twice a year to advise TIMA on how we can best serve the interactive community. Nominations can be submitted to brian@tima.org.

Position Descriptions

Marketing and Communications: The Marketing and Communications Committee is responsible for developing and creating all TIMA marketing and communications materials, including the design, copywriting, and production of materials for monthly events, programs, and community and corporate relations. Serving as TIMA liaison with media, organization, and corporate representatives. Assisting with coordination of TIMA participation in industry events (i.e. GTF).

Membership Committee: the membership committee is responsible for taking the pulse of the community and making sure that the concerns of TIMA members and Friends are known by the TIMA leadership team, and addressed. The Membership Committee acts as our members and friends advocate.

Education: The Education Committee is responsible for outreach to local schools to promote the awareness of TIMA, and to encourage student participationand help students develop relationships that will assist them when they graduate. Open and monitor student chapters where appropriate. Develop relationships with Schools and Faculty.

Programming Committee: The Programs Committee is responsible for scheduling and planning all of the events that TIMA sponsors each year. This would include locating hosts, developing topics, and coordinating speakers for each of the 6 main meetings that we have each year.

SIG Chairs and Leaders: The SIG (Special Interest Groups) Chair supports the needs of the SIGs that operate under TIMA. There are currently 3 SIGS identified, some of which have leaders, and some do not. They are: Business SIG, Atlanta Macromedia Users Group, and Web/Tech. If you are interested in leading one of the existing SIGS, or starting a SIG for a new topic, contact the SIG Chair.

Strategic Planning: This position is reserved for the outgoing TIMA president, should he/she choose to accept it. It is an advisory position responsible for making recommendations to the Board regarding the focus and future direction for TIMA.

Allied Design Council Liaison: TIMA is a part of the Allied Design Council, a group of design oriented organizations. It currently consists of: AIA, ASLA, AIGA, IDSA, ASID, IIDA, SEGD, and TIMA. The ADC liaison, along with the TIMA VP, coordinate efforts with the ADC and represent TIMA at ADC board meetings and functions. Geek Wars Committee: Geek Wars is a new event that TIMA wants to create and host one per year. The full title: Geek Wars: The Ultimate Technical & Design Skill Challenge - puts teams of designers and programmers together for one intense day where they compete against one another to develop the best website for a chosen non-profit organizaton. We anticipate national attention and sponsorship for this event. The committee and chair are responsible for making this event happen.

Georgia Web Developer Conference Representative: Once a year, TAG hosts the Georgia Web Developers Conference. The TIMA representative participates in the planning of this event and assists with defining the tracks, themes, and inviting speakers.

TIMA Blast Committee: Once a year - TIMA throws a Party! Past events have been the Rave!, Daemon Bash, and TIMA's Twisted Circus. This year….it's up to you. Be a part of the planning and execution of the hottest event in Atlanta this fall.
